Traditionally the CFL draft has been for someone else and certainly not for me a hardcore Blue Bomber fan. It’s been for Rider fans, Argos Fans, Als Fans, pretty much any kind of CFL fan except for meager Bomber fans. Why? Because we always seem to be on the short end of the stick on draft day due to the fact that we’ve had a penchant for trading away draft picks in recent years/decades. Amazingly, leading up to this year’s CFL draft I’m got a cautious but optimistic feeling. Winnipeg currently holds the first pick in the draft and the draft itself is only a few months away. At this point I don’t even care if there is a great trade out there to be made. Please Joe Mack Please just use the draft pick. There would be something special about seeing the Winnipeg Blue Bombers go up there on national TV and make the first overall selection. If it was me making the selection I would lean towards drafting a Canadian receiver again. We picked up a good one in Watson last season but I’d love to see us pick up another receiver of that caliber or better so that we can have two legit Canadian receivers for years to come. There probably isn’t any position on the team that couldn’t benefit from a quality Canadian player except for Punter and Kicker were surprisingly we seem to be set. But at the end of the day we’re still slim on Canuck talent everywhere and I think you get the most mileage out of a Canadian receiver on average. O-lineman seem to be more of a crap shoot so I’d rather see us use the picks we have in the middle of the draft to pick up some hoggies.

uhh we dont have any pics in the mid rounds.. oline is our biggest concern, if we can sign bauman and have watson and take a receiver with a later pic, we’ll be fine cdn wise. the draft is all about the oline.
I thought we at least had a 4th rounder but wasn’t able to verify anywhere what picks we exactly had.
Yeah if we can sign Baumann to me that would be like getting an extra draft pick and would reduce the need to select one with our first overall pick. In that case I’d like to see us draft Matt O’Donnell. If we don’t sign Baumann I’d prefer we drafted Anthony Parker. He’s probably good enough to come in and help the team immediately.
When it comes down to it we’re still in dire need of Canadian talent everywhere on this team.
not a fan of parker, id rather take the olineman. ideally we sign bauman and gauthier, take the cdn tackle with our pick and groom em for a couple years behind gauts. maybe trade one or 2 of january,douglas, butler and pick up a few extra later round picks in the process. but i agree, we are short on canadian talent and if u include donovan alexander, 3 just became available, bombers would be dumb not to grab atleast 2 of em.
